Is there any way of using VMR9 and having the video flipped back to right side up? I'm using VMR7 and occasionally get nothing but a black screen.

normanr Wrote:It seems that something is up with the Moonlight Encoder. Can you confirm what version you have installed, also maybe check if it has expired. I assume TimeShift mode is also broken?

Version 3.2.1 Standard version. I just reinstalled and will try that, but so far no luck.
I don't know how to access Timeshift Mode. Not something I have ever used???
Thanks Mike

dunno, sounds like a directx issue.

Hit pause during Live-TV, or if no remote then Ctrl-Q.

Still nothing from the recorder. I reinstalled the Moonlight encoder and still can't get it to write a file. Very strange.
I've had to resort to a different PVR program in the interim, but I like GBPVR too much to stop trying...Any ideas to try?
got the latest Hauppage drivers (WDM) installed, latest ATI drivers (Catalyst), fresh GBPVR install with the latest WDM software recorder (0.17), using Moonlight encoder 3.2.1 standard with the Moonlight decoder installed for viewing.
Is there a log file I can send you? if so where is it located?
Thanks!

ok one weird thing I just noticed...in the WDM Software encoder config, in the middle where is says Recording Source and has a drop down selection box, this is empty. When I try to click it to select something, nothing comes up...I assume this might be a problem...why would that be blank? Shouldn't my Hauppage Win TV Go card come up?

That's where you should be able to choose: tuner, s-video, composite. I assume that the Hauppage card doesn't have this option? Can you provide all the .log files in the gb-pvr folder - just zip em up together.

I have managed to get LiveTV working on my KWorld V-Stream XPERT TV-PVR 883 card, which is a cx2388x based card.

Two problems:
  • Preview resolution is always reset to 320x240. 640x480 or 720x480 would look much better, is there a way to set this yet?
  • The "Video Encoder" list in the config menu is empty, although I should have an encoder installed. Is there something else required to set this up?

Thanks.

This is scheduled to be included in a future release. This is a feature request that a lot of people are needing, because for some cards the default is larger than the encoder will support.

You need the Moonlight encoder installed. (see post #1)

Well, it does seem to work with the Moonlight encoder. I'm just curious why the CyberLink or InterVideo encoders don't show up / are not suitable, as their audio encoders and muxers are available.

One note: I need to use the CyberLink audio and video decoders, or I get nothing but a black screen on playback, despite a warning that CyberLink decoders may not be compatible with VMR.

Looking forward to resolution options!

Yea, basically the requirement for the encoder package is that it must be able to take uncompressed video and audio, encode them to MPEG-2, mux them together, and output an MPEG-2 program stream. It must not write the output to file, because the output needs to go to GB-PVR's own file writing component that allows timeshifting to occur.

Here are my logs from the GBPVR directory.
Thanks!
