nPVR cpu load issue

Hi Everybody
I have installed Npvr on my developer pc and found that when I start the nPVR application my cpu load rises to approx. 40% and it stays at that level no matter what part of the menu I enter. If I right click an select settings then the cpu load idles out, but as soon as I click OK from the settings then the cpu load rises to 40% untill I close nPVR. When doing a scheduled recording without the nPVR application running the cpu is only loaded around 10%! This issue keeps my computer from entering sleep mode and keeps it running hot => noice from the fans.
I tried to install on a different pc and unfortunately the same thing happend on that machine. Both machines are win7 Pro 32-bit with 4 gb ram and 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium®4

Hi!

Did you read already "NPVR - Getting started, current patches, tips and tricks **!!!!PLEASE READ!!!!**" and is your system meeting the minimum requirements?

Needed Microsoft updates for ALL versions of Windows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Microsoft DirectX Runtime: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en (please do not assume that because you have DirectX10 or DirectX11 that you don't need a DirectX9 update - you do!)

Your logfile tells the following:

2010-11-05 07:39:06.562    [ERROR][1]    Error initialising Direct3D: SlimDX.Direct3D9.Direct3DX9NotFoundException: Direct3DX 9 was not found. Please install the latest DirectX end-user redistributable package from Microsoft.

You should read carefully the thread, which i linked above and then try again.

You video card doesnt seem to support direct3d (or you doing this over remote desktop), so its having to render the UI in software, which uses a lot of CPU.

Thanks for your replies and as always you are spot on. Installing the directX runtime helped instantly. The cpu is now almost not used
I feel kind of embarresed that I didn't see the problem myself and that I didn't read the sticky before hitting the keyboard and wasting your time:o
Once again thanks and keep up the fantastic work with this amasing software.

ps. I was doing it remotely on the second pc I tried on which is were the logs are from! It didn't make any noticeable difference to the cpu load though...
