Hi
This may help, or maybe hinder
I assume this is the Workgroup list as seen on the client PC; but it only shows the server Rod-PC, there's no sign of the client PC itself? What is the client PC called please and is it a member of the Workgroup?
also could you run netstat -n -b please? (The foreign addresses look a bit weird? e.g. www:xxxx is connected to the local IP address 127.0.0.1??)
This is probably a[nother] dumb question, but the client PC is a physical machine, not a virtual machine?

Yes.

I assume this is where the problem is?
Maybe I need to add 127.0.0.1?

I guess so. In the registry it points to C:\Users\Public\NPVR.
So this is what I put in the Database Share field:
\\Rod-pc\Users\Public\NPVR
I set the folder as shared in the Server Pc. I can access it through the client pc using Windows Explorer.

I set the folder as shared in the Server Pc. I can access it through the client pc using Windows Explorer.
Now if you share the actual data directory (NPVR under \Users\Public) with the share-name NPVR, you should NOT give the whole path to the client, the share will point directly to npvr directory, so Server would be "Rod-pc" and Database share would be "\\Rod-pc\NPVR" (without quotes).

Well I tried using only:
\\Rod-pc\NPVR
But still no luck. At this point firewalls on both client and server have been disabled.
