Something I liked from a tivo was the ability to list all movies that will be playing within the next 12-24 hours. It would be really nice to implement something like this in GBPVR. Is this possible through a plugin?

the problem is that not every EPG source provides information about what each show is, ie if its a movie etc.

it is however possible, i think someone uses the extra information from zap2it it and stores it in a database, where sub just ignores the extra information. the only thing really in the gbpvr database regarding programmes which is kept is the title, subtitle (eg episode name), description (first 255 characters of it), start/end time, and channel.

Yeah. I was just looking at the XML zap2it gives out and it contains a lot of details about shows. What were you refering to that stores this extra information?

I take it there are no plugins already available to list movies and I'm willing to write one if the info is already available in the database.

i think video arch downloads the extra information. just look around at the wiki, you should be able to find out which plugin gets this info, then you could just use the same database to get the movie list.

I would LOVE it if someone wrote a plug-in that added a Genre Guide. Nothing like knowing which sports events will be on with the click of a button. Such a feature would convince the wife to use the GeeBo exclusively since she likes to know which movies are playing.
