That code isnt correct, because this isnt a hard encoder, and "PPCTV DiB BDA Analog TV Tuner (Dev1 Path2)" isnt an encoder filter, but it may be falling back to try soft encoding after it is unable to find the encoder filter.

Hmm, I will change to your code to test.
I do have to say the quality is not superb. But I was thinking it is related to the pinnacle pctv crap.
