I'm getting guide data using mc2xml and the xmltv.xml file it produces has guide data through 2011 01 14 . But the guide in NPVR shows "no show details" starting later today. Apparently even though the file is updating and even though that same file is the one that NPVR is set to look at, NPVR is not getting the new data.

I've attached logs. Thanks for looking.

Can you hit the 'Update EPG' button, then post the npvr.log? (to narrow down where to look in the logs)

I had hit the 'Update EPG' before posting. I get a please wait message that never goes away. So I went into the details of each channel and browsed to the xml file just to be sure it's pointing to the right location. I also checked that the channel mapping corresponds, and everything looks good. But still no result from the Update EPG button.

This has happened before, and I was able to get the update button to work as I just described. But not this time.

I'm pretty sure you didnt, because it'd log "Updating EPG..." as soon as you click the button, before it does anything else, and this isnt in the log.

Try again, even if you're sure you did this before zipping up the last logs, because there is absolutely nothing to go on in those previous logs.

Ok, here's new logs. I left out the web logs to keep the file smaller. (No change in file date/time in those.) I again attempted to update EPG. It was just hanging. I had let it go for over an hour before, so it's not just a matter of not letting it complete. I checked that the log contained the line you mentioned. Had to stop the update, and the recording service in order to zip the log, because of file in use errors.

Do you have an UpdateEPG.bat file?

Yes, the path is C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat

C:
cd "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Epg"
mc2xml -c us -g 93257 -C ptrvlle.chl -a -A

C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Epg\xmltv.xml does update, and that is the location the guide is pointed to in Setup>Channels

Esteban I notice socket errors. I suggest stopping the NPVR Recording Service and then from Task Manager killing (with the show all user option) any instance of NextPVR.exe that are there, and then restarting the service.

Martin, I stopped the service, and there were no instances of NextPVR.exe showing in the task manager. Still can't update the EPG.

Perhaps I need to 'Empty EPG'. Not sure what that does. Would I have to start over completely and scan channels again under the devices tab?

Nope, empty epg just removes all shows from all channels on all tuners. But you could try stopping npvr (use the Stop NPVR Service), rename your npvr.db3 to something else and start npvr service. This will create a new empty database, now set ut one tuner and see if it will update the epg.
