I am not sure, but perhaps this information (or at least a part of it) could help you: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/genera...ing-26191/
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

In my case, it seems, that Npvr is trying access to protected memory area and that causes the error. Not missing device, I think.

To be more precise, its the driver that is incorrectly trying to access the protected memory (when NPVR tries using the device).

Ok...
I've tried four different versions of device-compatible driver, none of them don't work any better. Except latest, it doesn't lead to blue screen.
Gb-pvr keep still working.

Still wondering a bit... All other applications, which use this device, work fine. Only Npvr causes memory error.

To be honest, I dont know what to suggest. I'm not sure what it could be doing differently to any other app. NPVR working for heaps of other people with other devices, so I'm pretty sure its something very specific to this device or its drivers.

Have you tried changing the actual memory (RAM)? Swapping modules or trying another module?

Not yet, but it could be worth testing. But, there is no any other idication of bad memory...

sometimes bad ram will give you random problems all over the place, and other times you'll get very specific errors that you might never guess were memory related. I once had a client who was getting garbled output from his printer, and only on the one printer attached to his machine - he could print to other printers on the network just fine. everything else on the pc was fine - no crashes or other weirdness. so naturally I spent quite some time updating/uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, replaced the printer cable, finally had him buy a new printer, and the problem kept coming back. finally while messing with the drivers on the new printer, I got a weird error from the installer that indicated data corruption, so I ran memtest86+. the first few simple tests completed no problem, then finally one of the walking-bit tests turned up the errors.

Now have ram swapped across, and to another bank, took another pair from this computer. Still same memory error.
