Hi , looking for a few answers to a few simple questions

1. Can I schedule recording via the MVP, just like the normal GBPVR menus?
2. Can I watch different progs on different MVPs using the one GBPVR ? Is there a limit to the number ?
3. Does the MVP have to be in view of the remote control ? or is it still the GBPVR

Thanks

Hi -

1) Yes. The only thing that won't work over MVP is DVD playback.
2) Yes, with caveats. If you only have one tuner card, you can only watch / record one channel at a time. Also, you can watch different MPEG recordings on different MVPs, but not different AVI's due to the cpu overhead required.
3) The MVP has it's own remote and you control GBPVR via the MVP remote - you have to have line of sight to the MVP, but not the PC running GBPVR.

Hope this helps.

Statement 2 is correct but just to elaborate or eliminate confusion:

You can use your MVP for watching prerecorded video (or anything else) while another show is being recorded with the tuner card(s). You probably understood this, but I just wanted to specify this as this is part of the beauty of the system. The limitations are set by Hauppauge @12 MVP's per network segment or something like that. I've run 2 MVPs at a time without any slowdown. I also played some resource intensive games while the wife was watching soaps via MVP without problems.

I've had my 350 playing out, but connected to RF (coax) cable feeding the house (kept in a seperate room). Just bought the MVP and its great to see "DVD quality" on TV via the SCART without needing a computer here.

Glad it's working out for you. Personally, I've always been impressed with the quality of the MVP, given it's price point and value for money; the addition of GBPVR is what really brings this piece of hardware alive IMHO.
