Just curious... considering getting the app for my phone but can't find a way to determine if the forums I like support it.

Funny, just the other day when I saw the article about Tapatalk on Precentral I was thinking the same thing... would it work with this forum, and do I REALLY need to be on the forum any more than I already am?

I imagine it would work fine. This forum runs on vBulletin, same as a huge percentage of other forums on the net. If Tapatalk doesn't work with vBulletin, then it would be pretty much useless.

On Tapatalk's website I noticed that it does require forum owners to make some kind of change. It sounds like it's pretty simple but nonetheless requires something of the forum owner.

Glad to see another WebOS user out in the wild! Wink

I wonder if the change they mention is something that would happen automatically with a vBulletin update, or if it's site-specific?

I guess if you provide a link to the info, and tell sub just how handsome he's looking today, he might have a go at it.

edit: and speaking of Precentral, can you get on there this morning? when I try today I just get "There was a problem rendering this page."

It requires installing mods on the vbulletin server. Given previous upgrade problems I experience after a vbulletin mod, its unlikely I'll do this. Sorry.

Forum owners have to register to see what the enabling process is, and afterwards they can disable it at will too. It's free and supposedly takes only 10 minutes, but what do I know - I'm not a forum owner. As popular as the app is on the iPhone and Android though I thought perhaps the this forum was already enabled.

In any event if you don't mind taking a look sub: http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php

sub, is there a mobile-friendly means to access these forums?

@johnsonx42... just saw your question... I had the same error on PreCentral.net this morning. I'm guessing someone fat-fingered a site change.

I dont think so. Hopefully vBulletin will add something in the future though.

Now that the forum has been so nicely updated, any chance of supporting Tapatalk?

I enjoy using it a lot on e.g. unRAID forum. It's really effective in allowing you to follow up on unread items etc. when you are on the move and have a few minutes (or even a boring meeting Rolleyes ).

It's apparently activated with almost 20.000 forums so far, a third of those with vBulletin, so it should be possible without breaking too much Smile
