The DivX AAC Decoder works on the sample I downloaded.

I'm feeling a sense of deja vu http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...e-no-audio That sample was one I used for PCH testing and it was quite straightforward.

@mvallevand
Yep it's a sample from a previous thread but demonstrates that Monogram won't work. @Reddwarf That sample doesn't have the change in audio that causes the problem for the Divx aac decoder. See the thread posted by mvallevand for another clip that does. iirc @gEd I only discovered the Mainconcept decoder recently and haven't had time to do as much testing with the new npvr version as I would like to before posting but thought I'd let you know me experience in case it could help you enjoy your new hardware. @Lao Pan I would be very interested to know how you got the Arcsoft decoder to work in npvr as TMT3 doesn't allow 3rd party apps to use it's filters normally. @Sub I have tried the wintv version of the arcsoft decoder with no luck so far but I haven't had the time to do as much testing as I would like before posting but I saw gEd's post and thought I would try to help. I have cleared some space on my system and intend to install a fresh win7 to do some testing, maybe something in my current os install is interfering in some way.

I can play and listen to that older sample via NPVR on the PCH but the first part of the 5:1 channel sounds like it's in a tunnel. VLC on the PC plays it with the same poor sound too. Martin

Ok, so (as RedDwarf advised) Divx AAC codec is the only one that works for me. Monogram, Arcsoft (codec from TMT3) and ffdshow are all silent. Not tested with movies so yet to experience the switch from 5.1 to 2.0 and back.
Otherwise, tuner seems to behave very nice.

Can someone post a short recording with 5.1 HE-AAC audio? Our New Zealand channels only use 2.0.

Sub if I remember you had that same problem with the Desperate Housewives sample that I did.

From the other thread http://rapidshare.com/files/435151952/De...2302330.ts. It changes to 2 channel on the commercial.

Pretty shitty sounding for the first 10 seconds or so until the adverts kick in, then the audio was fine. |
