Attached should be a fresh new log, the scan is occurring as I write this. The dump of the old EPG happened just after 3:13 PM (would have happen exactly then, but I was asked if I really wanted to do it). Not sure exactly when the update was finished, took several minutes but was done by 3:23 when I looked. Single log file that covers that time and yet another screen shot that shows the NBC weather in the wrong place should be attached. And the tuner must be attached and working, else NPVR would have no way to get the information that it is putting in the wrong slots after the epg is purged.

The tuner was attached and found in those logs.

I'm not the expert in your channels, so you'll need to look in the logs to see if the channels are being received on the wrong frequencies.

For example:
Quote:2011-01-28 15:21:05.906 [DEBUG][5] About to tune BDA graph:
<tuning>
<type>ATSC</type>
<locator>
<physical_channel>48</physical_channel>
</locator>
<service_id>3</service_id>
<tsid>1851</tsid>
<service_type>1</service_type>
</tuning>

2011-01-28 15:21:05.984 [DEBUG][5] Calling LockChannel()
2011-01-28 15:21:06.406 [DEBUG][5] locked=1, present=1, strength=22250, quality=70 (took 422ms to check)
2011-01-28 15:21:06.406 [INFO][5] DigitalRecorder.StartStream() allocated handle: 0x8
2011-01-28 15:21:59.546 [DEBUG][1] DoCompositeRendering() took 93.75ms
2011-01-28 15:22:05.828 [DEBUG][5] - saving 18 listings for channel: WRAZ-HD
2011-01-28 15:22:05.828 [DEBUG][5] - saving 10 listings for channel: RTV
On physically channel 48, it received channels for WRAZ-HD and RTV. Are those channels on that frequency? You'll need to perform the same check for the other frequencies too.

NOTE: all of the nice formatting I did to get this into columns was stripped out when I posted,
the first number after the call sign is the physical channel, the second is the traditional legacy channel.

That seems to be wrong. According to Wikipedia (and accurate as far as I know), WRAL and WRAL-2 are on 48, WRAZ-HD and RTV should be on physical channel 49.

I'll put together a list:

Physical Channel Traditional logical channel
WTVD 11 11
WTVD-D1 WTVD-D2 WTVD-D3

NBC17 (WNCN) 17 17
NBC17HD (17.1) NBC17SD (17.2) NBC17WX (17.3)

UNC (WUNC) 25 4
UNC-TV (4-1) UNC-KD (4.2) UNC-EX (4.3)

WLFL 27 22
WLFL-HD (22.1) Country (22.2)

WRDC 28 28
WRDC-HD (28.1) CoolTV (28.2)

WUVC (SEE NOTE BELOW) 38 40

WTNC (SEE NOTE BELOW) 40 26

WRAY 42 30
WRAY-HD WRAY-SD

WRAL 48 5
WRAL HD (5.1) WRAL 2 (5.2)

WRAZ 49 50
WRAZ-HD (50.1) RTV (50.2)

I've just reconfirmed that WRAZ is on 49 and not 48 from the internal settings of my digital TV.

WTNC is shown on Wikippedia as being on 40, but I don't think that is really the case for this purpose. It and WUVC are local Spanish speaking stations and they play a little fast and loose with station IDs. While there is a digital 40 around here somewhere, it is very weak where I did the scan (I doubt that I could have picked it up) and I know that WUVC should have 2 channels on it. So I believe that anything that shows up as WTNC is really the second digital channel on WUVC (40.2, physical channel 38).

I hope that is of some help. If more information is needed please let me know.

Schedules direct seems to want money. I'll look into xmltv later, but for now can continue to use manual mode. Glad to know it wasn't something stupid that I was doing using the program. If you get interested in tracking it down later I'll be glad to do what I can. Thanks.

MC2XML is free, if it covers your area.

schedules direct gives you a 7-day free trial so that you can get setup for free, and then it's only $20 per year. That's not even $2 per month. It's also by far the easiest one to setup, since NPVR has built-in support for it. Any of the XML solutions are DIY, though are also pretty easy once you understand.

Here is a patch you can try. It'll hopefully fix it.

Sorry for the absurdly long delay in responding. Had some other problems that you have no interest in that took focus from NPVR for a while.

Finally got back to this and found this message. Downloaded the zip, and replaced the dll in the program directory with the one provided. It seems to be working great, I now have an off-the-air program directory. Have not recorded with it yet, but expect that will go smoothly. Thank you very much.
