So I get some of the formatting I think. So mine should look something like:
<Device filter="SMRT Capture"> <Name>ATI 650 Pro</Name> <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type> <FilterEncoder>SMRT Encoder</FilterEncoder> </Device> There are other "SMRT" entries for Crossbar, TV Tuner, and TV Audio, but I have no idea how this plays into the Name and Type fields... I have no real idea what SMRT stands for. Sony MPEG Recorder/Tuner? Getting closer... -j

Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board
Makes sense... thats the drivers name. I think you (we) need sub.

Agreed... Not only do I not know how to code the middle 2 lines (I did the 1st and 4th lines from the earlier posted example), but even it I had it all together I wouldn't know where to embed the code. I tried to Google it some more, but no luck...
I will be stoked beyond belief if I can get this working. I'm in the last 6 months of being "offshore" and so don't want to acquire anything else that will need moving... -j

I would think the name should be "Sony MPEG RealTime encoder board" as it appears in device manager?

Snooze, do you know where I embed the xml once it's configured? If it a "no harm, no foul" situation then I could try inserting it and see what happens with regard to the device list...

Try having a read of the instructions in this link http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...alogDevice as it appears to give some more data for doing this than you have found so far.

Both ways I can get sound, but the picture is black. I had them setup like you had... <Device filter="SMRT Capture"> <Name>SMRT Capture</Name> <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type> <FilterEncoder>SMRT Encoder</FilterEncoder> </Device> and <Device filter="SMRT Capture"> <Name>SMRT Capture</Name> <Type>SOFT_ENCODE</Type> </Device>
