Does anyone else get this glitch with the video player? I'm playing on a secondary monitory, that's TV resolution. When I start a video, often the screen will be incorrectly zoomed in. If I click the 'aspect ratio' button, the problem is always fixed, and the video returns to fill the screen properly.

I think it might have something to do with playing a high-res video on a lo-res screen. It looks like when I first start, the videos are playing the center of the video, as if it was playing full-resolution cropping off the edges and only showing the center.

i was getting this also, but only on 4:3 monitors...[same as tv sd resolution]
like it starts out in fill but shows it as auto..
just checked... Correction, 16:9 material on a 4:3 monitor looks like fill is selected at first even tho it says auto...
cycling back around to auto does fix it tho..
both atsc recordings and hdpvr ones..but only 16:9 stuff..4:3 stuff would be same as fill on 4:3 monitor anyways, so can't tell if it is off also..Smile

pBS your problem sounds similar to the issue discussed here (on a single monitor) http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...on-in-nPVR Even if you tell NPVR that you have a 4:3 resolution the menus and video start up 16x9 until you force a screen refresh.

yes, i get that too when windowed, but this is when fullscreen.. either going straight to fullscreen or alt-entering into it.
and each subsequent play i have to reset back to auto again...seems that other bug goes away after adjusted once..that's what makes this one so annoying..every time..
and on mine it's just the video...gui looks fine..Smile
[tho i may be fooled, hard to tell if gui aspect is off]

will double check that..
yep....and only happens on h.264 .ts files....mpg play fine...atsc .ts play fine...hmmmm.. using MS or Cyberlink decoders

and no matter how many times i've cycle to auto, each play needs it on .264 .ts...[HDPVR]
the .mpg 16:9 no problem..atsc 16:9 .ts no problem...
btw this is on win7

can't you reproduce? does it not matter what video card i have, will try on xp in a few..

Yeah, pBS, your issue sounds similar to mine. The UI is perfectly correct but the video is scaled strangely. So I guess this is some of us all the time, and others not at all then?

This is also happening to me with 2.0.3, just with dvd playback. Starts in fill, reselecting Auto corrects it but must be done every time. Windows7 32bit, installed media-player classic to get the decoders so it would even play dvds without giving me the screen resolution error.

This patch might fix it. - did it for me (but reverse situation) with PDVD10 And Sub says fixed Microsoft H264. Not tried DVD though!

It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

No, that did not work for the aspect ratio. However, it did fix my resuming issue (dvd playback would not resume from former position, and now it does Smile )

here are logs, this is before and after the dll patch above, my actions are start GUI, select DVD, change aspect ratio to Auto (after it comes up in fill) and exit.
