The "Time Bar" and "Description" have recently gone missing on my NPVR V2 Client when playing Recordings such as during a "Pause". I could not see anything in "Settings" so deleted the Data Directory and did a reinstall but this has not cured the problem.

I guess this could happend if the UI-resolution (in settings) is larger than your actual screen size. Another possibility is that your display is set to some kind of pan-and-scan mode. Probably smart to try playing a recording and post logs here.

For me the time bar disappears first after a period of time and then a bit later the description autohides. There is a brief Wishlist thread on this http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...f-menu-bar.

I think what he is saying is that he doesn't see any timebar at all.

I changed the UI resolution from Auto to 1920x1080 but that made no difference. I then remembered that I changed the video card several days ago for a quieter one. When I put in another video card the Descriptions and Time Bar returned. I then realised that the other video card although it did 1920x1080 in 32 bit colour it only had 64MB memory but all the others have 128MB.

Ah, that might very well be the explanation.

Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction. The mention about the display reminded me that the new video card an old Nvidia Quadro NVS only had 64MB memory where as all the others have 128MB. I do remember seeing mentioned that 128MB is required but there was no indication of how much memory the Quadro NVS had until I looked at "Properties" in Control Panel. However I could not fault the SD picture quality on the 1920X1080 display even close up, but the "Time Bar" is usefull when jumping forward over adverts. Unfortunately the replacement card a GeForce 6600 has rather a powerful fan which means the computer is no longer silent so I may revert to the NVS card if I decide silence is preferable to the Time Bar!!

The ASUS/ATI fanless cards have a pretty good performance to an acceptable price.
