Subtitle switching not working

Hi guys (and girls of-course),

I posted this question already in another thread but realized I might not be the proper way to ask.

Sub released a patch that enabled subtitle and audio switching via keystrokes.
This functionality was my only reason not to switch to NPVR so I'm very happy that it's there ;-). I now have perfect control over these 2 vital functions from my remote.

Unfortunately it seems that I can't select any other subtitle then English (perhaps because English is the first in the row in the selection menu). It shows the subtitle description (English, Dutch, etc.) in the upper right hand corner but the subtitle itself doesn't change. Switching via the right-mouse click menu also doesn't function??
Audio switching works as expected via menu and keyboard....

Is this a known bug or am I the only one? Could this be codec related?

Is it the same on all DVDs for you?

I noticed I have one a DVD that'll only give alternative languages if I select it from the language option that pops up on the screen when the disk starts playing. It cant be switched later. I've got other disks that change languages just fine though.

I've only tried one DVD so far as I had it within reach. I'll try another one tonight and see if it works.

I'v tried 5 different DVD's (originals and DVDShrink-rips) and all have the same issue. I cannot switch the subtitles to any other then the first in line.

It doesn't matter if I try this directly on a DVD or a copy of it on the harddisk.

Is there anything else that comes to mind I can try?

To be honest, I'm not sure what to suggest on that one. I can change subtitles on most of the DVDs I've tried.

If I find some time I'll run a more extensive test and see what comes out. You never know, perhaps I picked the only 5 movies that don't work (yah right.. ;-)).

I ran some tests and for me the subtitle switching works. Between different subtitles and no subtitles. Ripped dvd's (dvd5 & 9).
Didn't work with H264, but not sure if subs came with the dvd

What remote are you using?

Does pressing Ctrl-S on your keyboard work? This is what your remote should be using for Stop.

CTRL+S only seems to work with DVDs with menus. Anything that has been ripped movie-only won't respond to it.

"Home" (mapped to my menu key on my remote) doesn't bring up a DVD's menu; instead it's doing the video inset thing. Again, only with full DVDs though, not rips. If the video is playing, then CTRL+S will go back to the menu, and then it exits the DVD (returning to NPVR's menu) if you press it again.

I can also confirm subtitle switching not working. I can't find a single disc it works on, but I know it *was* working at one point because I remember testing it after you'd posted the patch for it. I wonder if something else has changed since then. I haven't got any more time tonight to do more tests, but I'll try to report back with more details tomorrow, including the exact version of NPVR in use, and the results with both real discs, VIDEO_TS folders (of real discs), and VIDEO_TS folders of movie-only rips.

Ok, did have time for one last quick test... switching from the Arcsoft to the MS decoder (Windows 7) has brought back subtitles. But the one disc I quickly tried it with would only show English, no matter what the stream selected by NPVR's switching, or from the DVD's menu was.
