I think you are right, changing the codec has brought me back to where I was. With FFDSHOW I have video and audio on Svideo but I have blue screen and no sound on Svideo2. I can play back recorded files.

I had a crazy thing happen to me with my 2250 in GBPVR and trying to add a VCR. Even though I was using SVideo out on the vcr, I needed to use composite in in the device settings for the 2250. If it was because of the dongle... I dont know but it worked. Thought I might bring that up in case its the same for you that you may want to try.

Same response in GBPVR. My logs are from when I recorded on Svideo1 (which worked fine) and tried to watch on Svideo 2. Svideo 2 gives a blue screen and no sound as it did in NPVR.
I also tried Capture 2 instead of Svideo 2 and still got the same result in NPVR (blue screen and no sound).
Snooze, was it Capture 1 you did this with or Capture 2?

I though you had it working in the past in GBPVR? If its not working there either, then it sounds like you're doing something wrong. Are you sure you've not got missunderstanding the connections on your device? Are you sure it's not svideo1 on second device, rather than svideo2 on the first device? The logs indicate it's successfully changing to Svideo2, but there is no signal there, so the device generates it's default blue screen.
I have two separate cable boxes on the two separate svideo inputs. If I have them switched then I would think I would either get picture and sound on both or neither, not on only one.
I have everything working on Windows Media Center but I like your software and the output files a lot better (also all the other things NPVR/GBPVR gives you like clients). I had different cards when I was using GBPVR (HVR1600's on Windows XP).
