sub Wrote:The main changes since the last release are bug fixes, but it also contains a few new features:

Yeah, i can confirm this one. Great improvements! Not perfect, but a huge improvement compared to previous versions, or even gb-pvr itself. Smile

Quote:- added an 'already watched' indicator on the Recordings screen, along with an 'unwatch' button for clearing it.
Quote:- added logic to remember and restore the last aspect ratio mode.
Quote:- added ability to switch video into Inset window (on PC), while user continues to browse menus.
Quote:- added LC-AAC audio compatibility.
Quote:- fixed a problem where machine could go to slep while listening to music.
Thank you very much, sub, for this upgrades/fixes!

Quote:- changed the behaviour when pressing Play on [..] in VideoLibrary. Now queues and plays all videos in the directory, in least recently watched order.
A good improvement, but not perfect. More at the supportthread. ^^
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

Thanks for this. In your web server, do you support any language other than asp?

This is helpful (even though I have been strenuously avoiding learning asp), thank you.

I will have a look at this, thanks.

Its just designed for ASP.NET.

You can use any other web server though, like Apache etc.

Hello Sub

Is it possible to use movie cover art (movie filename with .jpg extension) in the entire info box, instead of as little thumbnail that loses all detail, the reason being that the tool thumbgen (http://thumbgen.org/) generates some extremely nice info images that i would like to use with npvr. I was thinking that the small thumbnails that npvr always generates, could be used when switching to small "views" and the original size could be used in the large "views" (info box).
This could be a separate setting in the config file, so that the existing way of doing things would still work.

cheers

I'm assuming you're talking the about the List view mode mode in the Video Library.

Place the attached skin.xml in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Skin\Default\Videos. It'll show a larger thumbnail if no metadata is available for the selected show.

Sub, when do you plan the next release? And when you release the next version, can you include a config-master... that has all possible config parameters (set to false if not needed). It would also be interesting to have an overview of all debug flags that can be set in the registry and what they do.

I havnt decided yet. I'm in North America the next few weeks, so it wont during that time.

The config-master-dont-edit.xml included with the release already contains all the settings. This file should contain the most sensible defaults for each settings.

The default is not always 'false' for boolean true/false type settings. It can be either true or false. ie, if you deleted a setting entirely from the config.xml you may see one settings behaves as though it was set to 'true', while another setting may behave as though it was 'false'. It various depending on the option (often based on what the behaviour was before it became optional - ie, might be added something or removing something).

NPVR doesnt use much in the way of registry settings. For the most part the registry is just used for enabling/disabling extended logging of the NPVR directshow filters.

That's the settings I meant, might be useful to some users too.

To be honest, it's probably best if users dont start turning those extra logs on - they're a pretty serious hit on the performance, and the log messages they contains are pretty technical, and can only really be interpretted by knowing what the code was doing.
