Newb here trying NPVR for the first time. I followed guides on the site but could be possible that I missed something. I brought in all my analog channels using Schedules direct and the seem to function properly with the correct coloration and such. After scanning in QAM I noticed that some channels are perfectly fine and some have a thick yellow vertical line running through the middle of the picture and some ghosting effects. My guess is the codecs but I'm not quite sure what to do with them. Used the SAF 5.0 codec pack for starters, then uninstalled and tried CCCP. It got even worse! I'm using onboard video and maybe that is my problem. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. There is a couple different logs in my NPVR folder(not sure which to show you) so I'll list them and the SAF log. Thanks in advance!

Yep, I'm pretty sure it'll will be codecs. When you're experimenting, you could also try switching video renderer to see if it helps.

BTW, I noticed your logs indicate the DirectX runtime isnt installed. This leads to higher CPU in the menus, and jerky animation. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...laylang=en

Yeah, I thought I might have an issue with that.. After trying to install it says I have an equivalent or newer version already installed.. But I open NPVR and it tells me it is not there in red letters under the settings menu.

Thanks for the tip! VMR7 did the trick! I guess I'll stick with that. Had all my issues with VMR9.

Even if it's running for now, you could update your drivers (especially the ones for the graphics): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchRe...amilyId=40

Oh sure SD, give the poor guy a link that forces German language on the intel site :p

Try: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchRe...amilyId=39

edit: @GLE - to my knowledge there's no reason you should have to use VMR7 on that chipset, and shouldn't get the DirectX9 error; updating your drivers should resolve it.

I confirm this. The 945g express chipset supports directx 9 and shader model 2. But on intel side this is driverdependig. In case of graphicdrivers updates he should take a look for a bios update too. Many newer driver features are depending on bios updates of the mainboard.
