Black Gold BGT 3620 and PVR2- HD channel sound

Hi,

Just got one of these- it's an absolute gem of the card- SD is excellent, HD pic quality is superb......BUT......there seems to be problems finding a codec that can cope with the AAC-HE audio.

Folks seem to have got it working in NPR, but I don't seem to be having much luck with PVR2 using similar solutions. Anyone got it going yet, and if so, how?

The DIVX AAC codec is the best. You don't have to install all of DIVX just find a way to extract the directshow filters (daac.ax and div_dec_aac.dll) and register the ax file.
It is a great card.

That's weird, I get silence with Divx. SD is fine, just nothing HD. Which audio stream should I use- the default or #2. I'm sure I just need a bit of extra time to fiddle around.

Don't know were you mean with the audio stream. Works out of the box for me, assuming you have selected it in the HE-AAC decoder option in the NPVR settings.

Your profile says GBPVR, have you tried with NPVR?

I have NPR installed, but still use PVR2 at present because there are problems with slow channel changes, DISEQ + scanning,deleting unused sources and selecting a secondary language as default on foreign channels with the new one. I was hoping someone had it going in PVR2.

I have one working fine on npvr using divx codec. I have not heard of anyone getting dvb-t2 HD working on pvrx2 and I suspect it may not work.

perhaps run both side by side (with npvr configured for the BG tuner only) whilst you work through the inhibitors to migrating over. you could probably launch npvr from within pvrx2 as a custom task. messy but may help.

Yes...it works fine with NPR and divx. It's going to be a while before I can migrate, as my source and epg setup is very complicated (english, French, German and Italian channels listed by country, all with working epgs)- took me ages....I also watch Arte HD alot, but need it in the secondary French language by default. Still can't get a decent scan either on 13/19e without crashings.

PVR2- pic is fine, it just doesn't seem to want to play with the Divx codec....I suspect some other codec is grabbing priority, then failing. I will need a bit of time to work it out....I see no reason why it shouldn't work- had the same problems when Mpeg4 HD came along.

I know Sub had to tweak the HE-AAC playback in NPVR so that it would play the LC-AAC stream, so I think you may be out of luck with PVRX2
