Single instance check not working in 1.5.36

I have computers both with and without remote (HW & SW) and the single instance check does not work on any of them.

I'm getting multiple instances on two machines. Both XP. One with remote, one with out. Latest version with all patches (i think!). Any logs / info I can post to help with a fix as it's really screwing around with the WAF???

If you remind me after the next release is out (in a week or so), I'll add some logging to help work out what why this is happening.
