I'm trying to run my digital cable box thru my Hauppauge 150. I have my IR Blaster configured, I have composite video running from the cable box to the card.
I went in and updated my Zapit listings to show my digital cable and the channels show on the tv guide but theres no info on them.
Am I configured the capture source wrong??
Can anyone give me a detailed explanation on what each setting should be?

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

Thanks so much Smile

Just setup a new capture source exactly the same as when you used analog cable, but instead of setting the source to 'Internal Tuner', set it to 'Composite'.

Set the Channel Changer plugin to the '.exe channel changer' and configure it to use 'c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe'

The EPG should be set to zap2it, exactly as you would have had it in the past.

Hey,

New to this, but I'll give it a shot...

1. Open the config program, go to the Capture Sources tab.
2. Edit the current configuration (or add one if you don't already have one).
3. Select Direct Recording Plugin as your source, click on the Settings button.
4. Choose Hauppauge PVR 150 as your Capture Card Type
5. Choose Composite, External Tuner as your Source.
6. Hit OK to accept.
7. Choose Hauppauge IR Blaster Plugin as your Channel Changer.
8. Hit Ok to accept.
9. Now back in the main Config window, hit Ok to accept all changes and GBPVR will reboot itself.

Hopefully that will at least get your tv running!

Take care,

Nick

Do I need 2 capture sources in my config?? One for my hauppauge card and one for my cable box??
I tried setting up just one but the live tv is all messed up. Do I set 1 as Capture Source 1 - internal tuner, then set another as Capture Source 2 - composite?? Or just set 1 as composite - Im still confused. Also, I don't have a "haupblast.exe" in my devnz-gbpvr directory nor in my WinTv.
Im sorry to be such a pain.

If i understand you correctly, you should add one for internal tuner, and one for composite. This is unless you have *all* the stations as digital channels? In such case you should only have to add one source - composite.

For me, I have a few stations that I only get analogue, a few that I only get digital, and a few that I get both analogue and digital. So, I have two sources, one "internal tuner" for the analogue ones, and one "composite" for the digital ones. The stations that I get both in analogue and digital versions, I just had to decide if I wanted to use them as analogue *or* digital. Otherwise I think GBPVR would give you a whole lot of conflicts. So, you should make sure no single station is in both of your two separate EPG sources that you'd need to have.

Hopefully I add more knowledge than confusion :-)

Ok I added 2 sources 1 for basic cable and 1 for my digital cable box.
Everything seems to be viewing ok.
So are you saying I should "disable" the digital channels in my cable source - and disable the cable channels in my digital cable source??

Am I reading this correctly??

Thanks for all your help Smile

Hum. I'm not sure anylonger. Maybe you don't *have* to make sure the stations aren't duplicated. I guess GBPVR might consider them to be two different channels. I don't really know. But if you don't disable them like you described, don't you get two instances of every one of the "duplicate" stations in your EPG? That could get confusing, at least it would to me.

But I think you are correct, disabling them in their respective capture source might be easier than configuring your EPG source to not download certain channels, depending on which EPG source you are using.

Should the source I set up for the cable box be set to-
Under Settings, in Direct Recording Plugin
Should it be Capture Source 1 or Capture Source 2 under Board Number.

I have my Hauppuage regular cable as Capture Source 1 - should the cable box be the same or different.

Somethings not right - in set up or somewhere - Ive done something wrong. I tried to set a manual recording of one of the digital channels and it failed. I also tried to go in a cancel it and it gave me the message "failed to communicate with recording service". Sad

I REALLY appreciate all your help Smile

I'm lost. I'm not at my computer right now, so I can't check. Anyone else? (I hope I haven't remembered incorrectly so far and mislead you in any way... )

I appreciate everything you've told me - Ive got to run to a drs appt here in the next few mins anyways.
One other question - could the composite cable have something to do with it?? I don't have S-Video on the cable box so sub told me to use a composite cable and it was late and I didn't feel like running back out again and I found what I "thought" was a composite cable. Maybe its not - I dont know Sad
Could that be part of the problem?

Thank you so much I'll be back after bit Smile
