I'm sure it probably is, but I also said I was doing this testing with GBPVR Smile

I'd expected - from reading around - that 7/EVR would match (or better) XP/VRM9. I wasn't seeing that (on the new hardware). Today I am (on the old hardware). Therefore I'm hoping I just stupidly messed something up yesterday and it's actually happy bunnies all round.

Yep, it was just me being stupid. 7/VMR9 and 7/EVR are both perfectly ok with the MS decoder and my new i3 setup, and both look just as good as they do with XP.

Odd, I've just moved to Win7/EVR and I still can't find a picture that's as good as I had under XP/VRM9 FSE. It tears and pixellates - under any decoder, and I'm certain that it's because DXVA isn't enabled. Graphedit says it should be but I can't switch it on using PDVD11 or the MS decoder (or for that matter the ATI AVIVO decoder). Any thoughts would be helpful... thanks.

What driver version? I've seen reports of problems with the latest ones. I think I still might be using 10.12 - they work, and I have no desire to break things by trying newer ones.

I'm using the latest ATI drivers - but you know, I see reports for all drivers on forums with people saying that there are problems....

I have the 11.6 ATI drivers and PDVD11 from Hobergs SAF 6 codec pack results in lots of pixelation so I moved back to ffdshow for now whilst I test some more.
(I've not reported it to Hoberg yet so I hope he doesn't find out I am talking about SAF codec problems outside of the SAF thread :-D )

Same problem here
I think it is an ATI issue latest PDVD11 from SaF 6 - 11.5 drivers & 11.6 drivers Freeview HD picture totally Kaput and deinterlace keeps resetting to Bob (from Vector Adaptive)

Reverted to 11.4 and all is well - why do they keep having to breaking the drivers for video just for a few nano seconds improvement in some obscure game

This with Vista and HD5760 graphics
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh
