Comskip Question

I use ShowAnalyzer for commercial scanning, would I need to something similar to w/ the bat file or could I just use it's built in folder monitoring. I currently use DVRMSTool box for the monitoring as I use their addin for 7MC to get the auto skip, which leads to my second question about the function of commercial skipping in NPVR. The DTBaddin in 7MC has keys you can set in order to turn auto skip on/off, rescan, skip forward/back over marked commercials, etc. w/ auto skip turned on DTBaddin won't let you skip back over a marked commercial block but if you want to go back for whatever reason(like you think it added part of the show to the commercial block) if you it the keys programed for DTBaddin skip back it turns off auto skip for the commercial block so your free skip/play within it. How does the commercial skipping work in NPVR, is automatic or does it require key strokes, if it's automatic does it require any special keys stroke to get into a marked commercial block or can just use the normal skip back/rw keys or not possible at all?

You could either take the comskip PostProcessing.bat and change the executable name, or use it's folder monitoring. Either should be ok. I'd probably lean towards the PostProcess.bat approach though.

When you play a video file that has a comskip file present, it'll highlight the adverts in the timeline so you know where they are, and by default it'll just auto skip the adverts during playback (by jumping to the end of a commercial when it hits). It'll only do this once per commercial though, so you can skip back into the commercial if you need to (like comskip identified it incorrectly).

This auto skipping during playback can be disabled if you prefer it not to work that way.

Also, if video is playing, and is in one sections marked as a commerical, then pressing the 'play' button will cause it to jump to the end of the commerical. You might need this if you prefer to manually skip, or if you'd skipped back in the file.

...via the Autoskip setting in config.xml, or to disable it while viewing a specific video - useful when a specific recording didn't get processed well - press 999 on the remote as if you were changing channels.
