I have installed a DVBHD 2080P DVB S2 HDTV Tuner PCI card but in Devices it only shows up as a DVB-S type card, not a DVB-S2 card. Is this normal or do I need to edit a config file to register it as a DVB-S Type?

I believe that only Hauppauge DVB-S2 devices are supported.
edit: also the TBS S2 devices appear to work. this thread here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...Tuner-Card will provide interesting reading on why only certain DVB-S2 cards will work, and what is required for others to work... essentially, if the card doesn't 'just work' already (those that auto detect pilot and roll off), then sub needs a sample device and perhaps a little support from the manufacturer.

All DVB-S/S2 devices are listed with a type 'DVB-S' in the Settings -> Devices screen.
Read that thread johnsonx42 linked above though. It gives insights into why not all DVB-S/S2 capable cards can be used for DVB-S2.

oh, yes, I forgot that the devices screen doesn't actually say it's DVB-S2.
@lyntonb - just try scanning for channels; as mentioned in that thread I linked, some devices just work with no changes because they essentially behave like a DVB-S device.

Thanks for your help. I rescanned and the card was able to pick up one H.264 DVB-S2 channel.

You should be able to get 3 FTA DVB-S2 channels on "12398,V,11909,23,174" The 174 is needed with the older Hauppauge cards - not sure about yours though
