2.1.5 Select SPDIF on Colossus

I've never been able to get the Colossus' Toslink to work in NPVR either. Records off the Toslink fine in the two Hauppauge supplied apps. There was another thread about it here a few months ago now. I was the only one who chimed in when another user had the same problem. I assumed it was a codec problem we were facing since I am also experiencing crashing problems in Live TV as well. I'm using Windows 7 64. If it'll help, I can provide my logs in a few days.

The patch above should get the SPDIF going with the Colossus.

the cumulative patch update in the sticky thread includes several fixes that pertain to Colossus users, including a live tv crash issue. From what I've seen I'd suggest no one should try to run a Colossus without the latest patches.

I fixed this issue by installing AC3 filter codec and adjusting the setting in nPvr decoder section.

Ok day two with this great app but I can not get audio with a toslink. I set forcespdif to true but did not apply the patch yet as it looks like its for a older version I'm running 2.3.6.

As well, my colossus SPDIF setting wouldn't stick. I would set it to SPDIF, "OK", go back into the colossus device settings, and its defaulted back to RCA.

I'm trying the force setting, and I'll see if that works.

I am running the latest 2.3.6.

That UI setting isn't used at all at this stage. I'd started adding this setting, but forgot to complete it, so it's left non-functional. It literally does nothing, so you dont need to worry about what it's showing.

Basically with an HDPVR or Colossus you always get the RCA input unless you set <ForceSPDIF> to true in config.xml, or if you're using HDMI with Colossus where you'll be given HDMI audio.
