Aside from controlling which directory live tv streams are stored in, are there any other settings we can control? I would love to be able to:
1) Control how big (file size) or how long (minutes), the live buffer can be.
2) Turn live buffer off (very useful for analog composite and s-video capturing where live buffer doesn't make sense).
3) Control how often the files in this directory are emptied. This obviously is easily done myself with a scheduled task, but the top two ones have no workaround.

Thanks

There is a registry setting that can be tweaked to ajust the number of minutes stored in the live tv buffer.

No.

Its supposed to remove the files pretty much immediately when they're no longer required. In the current release I've seen a few comments from people indicating they're having files left behind. Its probably some recently introduced bug. I haven't looked into it yet.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Can you please tell me what the registry key/location is?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\npvr\SlipSeconds or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\npvr\SlipSeconds on 64bit Windows

For clients including the PC, NMT and MVP this is not new, it has been a problem since the beginning. For the NMT the "bug" is the attempts to delete the file by NPVR and by the webserver occurs before the recording graph has closed.

There may have been some scenarios where files have been left behind before (particularly with the NMT, which I dont test much test days), but there seems to be something new in this release which makes it more likely to happen.

Can anyone clarify if this is a reg key we have to manually add? It wasn't there on my Vista 32 installation, unless its moved or something.

Thanks!

From memory it's not there by default. If not defined in the registry then it defaults to 3600.
