Installing 2.15 Question

Yes but there's no description and I can't start it from there. It "cannot find the file specified". The file is in the install folder and has an entry in services but doesn't run?

BTW, just scanned in Windows Media Center earlier. It works for me but I prefer this software. Just want the update to run. Thanks for trying to help it must be something obscure. That's 3 installs now with no luck, same problem.

Try uninstalling, then remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\npvr registry key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\npvr on 64 bit versions of Windows), then reinstall.

If that doesnt work, I'll talk you through manually installing the service.

it should be sufficient to run:

sc delete "NPVR Recording Service"

after uninstalling NPVR. then it should re-install without issue.

Followed your advice and also made 1 other change. I had been using a partition other than "C" for the install. That may have been a problem.

After the install couldn't get all the R2 patch files to copy so I checked my process manager. NRecord was running! Good sign. Killed process, copied files, scanned channels. No success until I adjusted decoders then bingo. Old settings worked.

So I'm not sure if it was the regedits or the drive destination or both. Maybe the older version didn't matter, but THIS version on THIS lappy apparently cares.
