Hi there. I'm having difficulty connecting to mvpmcx2 or npvr from my egreat m34a nmt. I can connect successfully to the ihome sw and stream from my media pc. Here is the syntax checker info and attached are my log files. Hope I have all the logs needed.

Thanks!

It doesn't look you have added the mvpmc share as a Source network drive on the NMT yet. Once you do browse to the mvpmc share and hit the blue button to see the NPVR.html, select it and then select the first option.

You also need set your config.xml values to 1280 x 720. 1080i/p will still play at 1080p, that this is strictly the setting for the menus. mvpmcx2 will run at 1920x1080 but it is not recommended, it is too slow and takes a bit of unnecessary configuration.

Oh, I forgot to mention that. When I try to browse to media-pc I get an error no content on server. I shared C:\mvpmc with Guest privileges and turned on the Guest account. I can see the share from other PCs on the network.

I added the network share via the setup menu smb://IP_address/mvpmc and receive an error the share folder no longer exist.

Lastly, the egreat remote doesn't have a blue button.

Your share is not set up correctly. Follow the guides I link to on the Dummies guide link for Vista/Win7 especially http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...work_Share

Sorry, instead of blue the rightmost menu option will display html files but you need a share first.

I followed the instructions in the link and now see all the shares under media-pc. When I select (Enter) the mvpmc share I receive an error cannot find the workgroup list.

Windows is what is dumb. It isn't smart enough to change the permissions after you make change. Remove the guest share and re-add it to see if that helps. If not on one of the links there is instructions on how to remove the "Windows Live Sign-in Assistant"

As I've said Microsoft didn't make it easy. In My Computer when you look at the properties for the mvpmc folder share do you see it as Share. In the Security tab to you also have the Guest access?

Here is what your network should look like http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/c...t=net2.jpg

I have some success now.

Removed the share and re added. The sharing and security tabs both have Guest with Read / Read & Execute / List Folder Contents. I can now click on the mvpmc share and get a start //network_browser screen that has video, music, pictures and playlists icons. If I click on video, music or pictures I get no content found. If I click on playlists I see the n-pvr.html file. I can click on it using enter on the remote and see choices for n-pvr, n-pvr via network browser and n-pvr via usb. clicking on the first option I get request cannot be processed. The second option (n-pvr via network browser) the gui for npvr will start. Is this the correct method?

Again, thanks for the help.

Ok that's better. Now add the share via setup, power off the NMT fully to restart it then load via the first option. If that fails post the syntax check.
