Hi

I've recently upgraded from GB PVR. I cannot view live tv. I searched around to solve this problem to no avail. Log below

I've tried the following:
-disabled Windows Firewall and Norton and made exceptions for both exe services and both tcp ports 8866 and 8968
-ensured that the only entry in hosts file was 127.0.0.1
-upgraded Direct X 9
-rebooted

Any help much appreciated.

Zip and attach the nrecord.log/npvr.log.

Is nrecord.exe running in task manager? You'll need to click the 'show processes from all users' button to see it.

Is there no nrecord.log?

Have you start tried using the shortcut in the Start menu for starting the service?

No NRecord log at all. I just tried to start the service with the shortcut and got an error message saying the service cannot be started. Not sure if it is relevant, but I also have WIN TV on my system, although not currently running (and it works fine for live tv)

UPDATE: pic of error dialogue attached

On other user recently had a problem with his firewall stopping nrecord.exe from running.

You could try manually running it from the command line to see if it starts. ie, start a command problem and run:

Code:
cd \program files\npvr
nrecord.exe RUN

Manually starting the service worked, thanks. Will I have to do this everytime, including prior to scheduled recordings?

It sounds like you got same problem the other user had, where the firewall software was stopping it running. After he realised it would run manually, he was able to configure his firewall software to allow it to start automatically. Cant really give you much more details than that though.
