Hi,
Just installed the weather plugin. Is great, looks great and particularly the way to add cities using the remote is nice!

However, I live in Europe (continent) and am used to the SI-units (kg, m, s, etcetera). The temperature can be converted to centigrade, which I like, however pressure and visibilitie are still in inch HG and miles. Is it possible to add more conversions?

Greetz,
MaBo

I think you guys are talking about two different weather plugins, right? I suppose MaBo is talking about the plugin from http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...in/Weather right?

I noticed that too. Temp is in Celsius, but barometer, and visibility are in inches and miles respectively.

The code base I started with (which I think was 2.0) only did the conversion to centigrade. In any event, I have added the conversion of all units to SI units and with the help of another user have verified that it works as desired. I will try to get the update posted later tonight.

msnbc's weather data is provided by the weather channel (http://www.weather.com) (wherever weather.com get it from)...

the local weather for zug, switzerland shows the forecast for wednesday, too... may be a time-zone problem... e.g. where the msnbc-server resides, it is still wednesday or something.
remember: on the bottom of the page you'll see '© by microsoft corperation'... so don't be surprised Big Grin

hPa/kPa: in central europe (germany, austria, france, italy, switzerland) pressure on weather maps are in hPa, but i don't know what unit other countries in europe are used to.
but i can live with kPa *g*

hmm... stefan (or another user..*g*) : what is the 'standard' in the scandinavian countries (just curious)?

The Scandinavian people are as metric as possible =) Celsius and Meters are the standard we use. Regarding air pressure I had to look it up :-)
Our meterological institute says that in the old days (vikings? :-)) we used "mm Hg", and then we started using "mb", but now we use the "international standard" - hPa. They also say that
1 hPa (hektopascal) = 1 mb (millibar) = 0,75 mm Hg
