Sorry WKleeven, I didn't see what I needed, could you upload a 100MB sample to a free upload site like megaupload and post the URL. You can use sub's CutChunk utility to create the sample http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...y.CutChunk

Thanks, first here's a new dongle that should allow skipping http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...e4npvr2.7z in normal files.

Second I got the file and as I suspected the beginning of the file is the problem, I took ~5MB off the beginning to get to what I considered a good PAT and the file can be skipped with this new dongle and the timeline is correct. Sub will probably need to look at how he is writing and reading these decrypted files. Until then TS4NP is a utility that does a pretty good job of cleaning this kind of mess http://www.popcornforum.de/showthread.php?tid=2285

You can try setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\npvr\BlockEncrypted=1 (DWORD) to make it throw away encrypted packets at recording time.

I am trying to get the MVP to load it, but it seems to be taking very long. I am busy with the children (bath and bed), so I am not very concentrated. Will try in about 1,5 hour.

Do I understand correct, that I might not need TS4NP and instead use this registry key?

That's what I am trying to do now, but I am waiting for the dongle.

For new recording hopefully not. Sheik Yerbouti gave me some sample that still had junk though and I am pretty sure he uses this setting.

Sub and Martin, I think you did it!
To be honest, I thought this wasn't going to happen. I knew both of you are fed up with the MVP and I understand, really. So my gratitude is even more. Thanks!

Summary first:
-Used the nextpvr.zip in this thread in post 64/66. Crash after exit was fixed with this bugfix.
-Used the registry key
-Didn't use TS4NP
-New recordings

Analog as well as digital seem (minor testing) to do fine. My wife is using MVP right now, so I will do some more testing the next couple of days, just to be sure.
I noticed that after skipping an analog recording, the timer on the left skips to for example 00:02:40, then goes to 00:02:42, then 00:02:41 and then normal. No problem for me, but just wanted to be accurate.
"Go FF" now doesn't stop after 10 seconds, but just continues.

It seems that the problems have been solved. My wife is (and thus I am ;-) ) very happy again with NPVR.
Just to be complete about issues I have/had:
- I already reported this and it's no big deal for me: When I push ">|" in the recordings menu, for example when in "ready recordings", it changes to "what's new" (just like "arrow right"). That's strange, because the the ">|" key is reserved for music playing actions in whatever menu a user is.
-In post 6 of this thread, I attached a corrected "Netherlands - Ziggo - Limburg.brabant.ini" (scanning didn't give me all the channels with the original):

I will do some more testing tomorrow. Thanks again guys.

Just had another crash after back/exit key on the MVP, analog recording. Attached the logs.

Great, glad to hear it's looking much better.

I've already fixed the skip key in the recordings menu for the next release. This wasnt MVP specific. It also happened on the PC. The skip keys are Ctrl-LeftArrow, and Ctrl-RightArrow. They logic was looking for the left/right keys to switch lists, but wasnt explicitly ignoring them when the 'Ctrl' modifier was also being pressed. The next release is updated to correctly hanld this.

Thanks for the updated ini. I've updated the master files to reflect this.

You likely need to disable the TV Recordings Panel in TV Listings. I don't use it but I know it causes a lot of crashes.
