hauppauge 1600 no audio with atsc

I've got sound with wintv7, but not NPVR.

I've uninstalled the NPVR and deleted config xml then reloaded it but no joy.

The pvr150 sound works but not the 1600.

It'll be down to the audio decoders you've selected. In the US, you probably need both an MPEG1 Layer 2 audio decoder, and an AC3 decoder.

I have a similar problem with a Hauppauge HVR-1250. No audio. Tried all my codecs. Tried downloading some over the internet from ffdshow and AC3 filter. Video works great on astc tuner. Audio works with other programs; but no audio. Not a real codec genius. Not sure where to go from here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for a great free product!

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your npvr.log and I'll take a look.

I'm pretty sure Bluetick's problem is just his decoders. I can see in his logs he doesnt have any AC3 decoder enabled, which will mean no audio on any channels with AC3 audio.

I'm sorry. I don't know how to run an npvr.log

When your run nextpvr, it automatically creates a npvr.log file. On Vista/Win7, you can find it in c:\users\public\npvr\log.

This log should give me info about why your audio isnt working.

There is nothing particularly obvious in there, but I wonder what this "ATI CC Multiplexer" is, and whether it's hooked itself up to somewhere and stopped audio from working.

Also, the default 'MPEG Audio Decoder' isnt very good.

You could try downloading and installing the LAV audio decoder, and select these for use. These decoders seem pretty good.

It's working now. See attached log. I'm not sure what got it working because I did a number of things between last night, when I KNOW it wasn't working, and today, when I pushed the correct speaker button on my receiver and sound came out. Anyway, I'll try those other decoders too. Thanks so much for your help and patience. Working great. I really enjoy it!!
