I have been on 2.2.6 since a month or so now, until then I had 1.3.11. So I am not sure if my issue is designed to behave like this, or whether it's a bug:

When I am playing music, but want to listen to another song I double click the new song (on the PC). In 1.3.11 the new song started playing wright away, in 2.2.6 I have to press stop first.
Is this designed like this in 2.2.6 or is this a bug?

Then on the MVP, it takes 3-4 seconds after pressing stop before I can move the cursor to a different song. That's long if you have to wait. Is this normal?

The new default in 2.2.6 is to queue a song if you double click one while another is playing. You can change this in config.xml.

Change the setting in right-click config as explained on the wiki http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ation.Misc

If the MVP problem continues don't forget your logs.

Changed the setting. Problem solved on the pc.

Unfortunately, I get some strange behaviour on the MVP:
I selected to play "Rumour has it" (second song). Then selected "Rolling in the Deep" (first song), which is listed above "rumour has it", screen blacked out for a fraction of a second, then "Rumour has it" played again instead of "Rolling in the deep". Pressed "stop", then after a few seconds the MVP crashed. Attached the logs.

I especially selected the second song first and then the first song, because I noticed some other strange behaviour too. Will report in the next post.

Selected Turning tables (3rd song)
selected rumour has it (2nd song), text on the bottom of the screen changed but song played didn't change
selected rolling in the deep (1st song), very short part of a song (but don't know which, probably the buffer?), text in the bottom didn't change (still turning tables) and rumour has it (2nd song) played
selected rolling in the deep again, rumour has it played and text in the bottom changed to "rumour has it"
selected don't you remember (4th song), took 3-4 seconds, buffer played, set fire to the rain playing, text in the bottom "rumour has it"(2nd song)
selected don't you remember (4th song), set fire to the rain playing, text "set fire to the rain"(5th song)
Pressed stop, after a few seconds, MVP crashed. Attached the logs.

I gave it a whirl and this particular music playback function does appear to be broken on the MVP.

Sub, I checked further on this and the reason is if songs are switched on the MVP while another is playing, NPVR is treating the new song as a video. (GUI clears screen, tells media socket it is a video etc).

Give this one a go. It should fix it.

Backup your original file first though, incase you need to go back to it - I'm not 100% sure this new version is compatible with 2.2.6.

Well, that's a big improvement, because the songs I select to play are indeed playing! Thanks!!
I'm not sure if it solves all the problems, will test some more tomorrow.

At first glance, some minor issues/questions:
- after selecting another song to play, the text at the bottom of the screen doesn't change until I push arrow down.
- I had a crash on pushing stop, but not always (will see tomorrow after reboot)
- it may take a few seconds after pushing a button, before I get response (will report tomorrow)
- is it normal that pushing play twice, restarts the song? (so it's not pause and play further?)
- ">>" doesn't do anything, is that normal? Shouldn't it skip .. seconds?

I will report tomorrow after further testing.

After further testing, these are my findings:

GOOD:
- the song selected plays
- no crash after pushing stop button (until now)

ISSUES:
- after selecting another song to play, the text at the bottom of the screen doesn't change until I push arrow down.
- it takes 5 seconds after pushing start button before music starts. In this time the cursor doesn't seem to respond either. After the 5 seconds, the cursor seems to have moved anyway.
- Just 1 song is being played, not the whole cd. But that may be a change since 1.3.7?
- Is it normal that pushing play twice, restarts the song (so it's not pause and play further)?
- ">>" doesn't do anything, is that normal? Shouldn't it skip .. seconds?
- "back", "view", "playlist" and "shuffle" isn't visible at the top of the screen when pushing cursor up (2.2.6 functionality, not included in the fix?)
