I have the capture card drivers installed, the NPVR software installed, and the patch applied and when I go to record anything from my PVR in LiveTV, it is just a black screen. I have added 1 channel with component as the input source and it still isn't working. Any help?

First thing I'd check is if you record (from tv guide or manual recording), do you end up with a file being created that has a size greater than zero bytes? This will give us an indication if the problem is a playback issue (decoders etc), or a capture issue (wrong input etc).

Sorry to be a COMPLETE noob when it comes to this, but when I click Live TV, there are no controls on the screen, it is literally just black. I can right click and that brings up settings, channels, play and stop ect., but I do not see anything allowing me to record.

Yep, thats why I said to record from the TV Guide, or Recordings screen. ie, not recording from live tv.

I go into the TV guide and just double clicked a time, then click Quick Record, and got an error stating..."No tuner available for this recording"

I also just clicked Record and got this error

EDIT:
Looks like that picture came out pretty small...but it says "Unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Also to add, the HD PVR works...I have used it multiple times in the past, but I recently did a factory reset on my computer and lost the disk for the Arcsoft program...the drivers are installed, and this program does seem to recognize the HD PVR seeing as I can add it to a channel.

Can you click that 'details' button, and post the contents of the message?

Probably also worth zipping and attaching your npvr.log and nrecord.log.

When click details this shows up...

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

To be honest, I'm not really sure why you get that error, I've not come across it before, but does the recording then show up in your Recordings screen pending list?

I think thats the same reason live tv is failing. Its getting no data from the HDPVR.

What audio input source are you wanting to use?

Zip and attach the nrecord.log and I'll take a look.
