Wanted to let you know that I went back to GBPVR for the last week and did not have any skipping or back to back recording problems. All recordings were completely fine. Not really sure if this helps the situation with finding the cause of my NPVR problems. Let me know if there is anything I can do on my end to help the situation. As much as I love everything about NPVR, I'm just gonna have to go back to GBPVR because of the reliability.

What BDA multiplexer setting are you using? I'm guessing not the TS mux.

Hmm, there shouldnt be any difference between the two when it comes to recording .ts files. They both work the same way for this activity.

If you create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\npvr\LogTSWriter=1, then reproduce a problem recordings in NPVR, then post the c:\temp\writer-x.txt files, I'll take a closer look.

Ok, will do. Since I know the Sunday night shows give me the most issues I will wait till then and probably post the logs sometime on Monday.

Same issue as before:

8 PM, shows records fine but not able to skip forward or backward
8:30 PM, show records last 3 min
9 PM, Show records last 3 min
9:30, A very small unplayable file is made

I put that text file that was made in the attached zip. It appears to have overwritten each time a new recording started. Did I set up the registry entry wrong?

FYI: I have back-to-back recording issues too, specifically, The Big Bang Theory (Tragedy!)

I definitely have skipping and pausing/restarting issues but the biggest problem is the recording problem.
When I record back-to-back, the first show is fine and the remaining shows are only a few minutes long.
I have my pre/post show padding at 1/2 minutes (the default, I think.)

I'm a long-time user of GBPVR (loved it!) and switched to NPVR when I got a PC for the living room (about a month ago).

I hope this issue is fixable. I don't want to do a reinstall of GBPVR (but it worked well and I loved the ability to FF).

If I can help diagnose the issue let me know.

It might be of use to know what kind of tuner(s) you are recording from, if you have a log (nrecord.log) from a problematic recording session it may be of even more help to narrow down the problem.

I am using a Hauppauge PVR 150 and I will try to set up a recording today and upload the "nrecord" log.
It will just have to wait while my boys pummel each other on the game box.

So we'r talking analog recordings with one single tuner? Are the back-to-back shows on the same channel? If not, it would be impossible for one analog tuner to make the pre- and post-paddings, because in that case it would have to tune two frequencies at the same time.
