Unfortunately TVListing and SubMenu are still there and running. The easiest way to disable them is to rename their folders with the underscore, ie _TVListings instead of the zzzz you used. The first log message is probably a red herring because I get it too, it might show an internal problem but I have not had a crash in hundres of live TV occasions I have had since this thread started trying to duplicate the problem. The second message from web.log is how the web server logs stops (for a stop or movement in a file).

In this case I didn't even see a dropped connection and the screen updates look like they are being send. Have you ever tried the HDMI reset when you get this problem? Use the Eject followed by Delete.

I haven't tried the hdmi reset, but the box wont respond to a reeboot request (power eject - i think it is without the remote in front of me), so I assume it won't respond to the hdmi either.

Sorry didn't realise it specifically had to be _ assumed just renaming was good enough. Will try harder next time.

Yes you are right if it has crashed you won't be able to reset.

Odd....this morning I was trying to replicate the issue but when I hit the power button to back out of live TV nothing happened, the box got stuck on live TV, looking at the logs there are no key press events around that time (8:45am)

The power key doesn't normally send anything back, but I have had to special case it. Stop is recommended because that is what I test but some people oddly use Back/Return. Have you tried replacing the batteries or swapping remotes?

Definitely not the remote.

Ok, I can't explain why the remote stopped responding, the logs look good and SubMenu and TVListings are now disabled. I checked back on the thread and I already did mention the R2 patch so I am out of ideas.

Hmmm....not good, I have some services running on the PCH so I'll disable them, don't think it will change anything. Maybe I'll see if the istar I have in a drawer does the same thing, I have not plugged it in for a year or so, long before the PCH issues started.
I am considering a complete server overhaul with new hardware and obviously a ground up re-install which might make it go away but that won't happen until Easter time frame.
The issue does seem to be dependant on how long live tv is in use for before exiting, the other day I was trying to replicate it and I went in and out of live tv 5 to 10 times in an hour, it wasn't until I left it for an hour on live tv that I could replicate it. hmmm

I tried 3 sessions this afternoon over an hour and didn't loss the remote after playback. If you still have troubles we can try debugging with telnet, that is pretty much the only way to get more info right now.

That would be most welcome, I'll have to defer until January when I'll have a little more time on my hands.
