Actually leave it open, I am wondering if there is interest in this as a very good NPVR client that doesn't play other formats (xvid, mkv etc) as well as the competition.

I would be very interested in this as an NPVR client but would want it to play my other local content too. How exactly does it not play mkv as well as other devices?

Being a Hauppauge device it is more likely to be available locally around the world & unlikely to be phased out quickly (I see from a quick look at pricespy.co.nz even the old MVP's are still available now!), the price is in the right area for an impulse/let's try it type purchace & if it could do the NextPVR client stuff as well as the NMT does it now I would say there would be quite a big number of users more than happy to get one (I would also say a lot of current MVP users would even consider it)...... but this is only my opinion & I am MORE than happy with my current NMT's as client/extenders for both GB & NextPVR..

cncb: I really think you should consider getting hold of a secondhand NMT & giving it a go as an NextPVR client (I for one would be very interested in your comments after trying one)

I'd be interested if it could play all my content like me WDTVlive and connect wireless. I use my WD's and Wii through wireless and have no interest in drilling holes and pulling wire through my house walls.

I was thinking about it as I've seen some A-110s on Ebay but I would really rather buy something new that would allow/assure me to get 3 of the same ones to have consistency at each of my watching locations.

I guess I was optimistic that there were more people were like me and interested in live tv and their media than their rips. I've had some great experiences this week with NextPVR watching videos and playing music over the Christmas break and I finally added music seeking to mvpmcx2 so I was in a good place with the whole experience I don't feel the MVP-HD will be able to play the range of files or level of NextPVR integration that the NMT's from ebay so I guess I need to keep looking for a platform.

@donschjr, the wireless solution for most devices are the gaming wireless devices. 1080p/i and wireless aren't a good mix though.

@cncp, I find the consistency is in the look and feel, the same plugins, the same remote commands, resume points etc. I actually wouldn't mind switching between my many players for the small percentage of the time I need to. My TV has 4 HDMI inputs plus it can stream from the network and play from USB by itself, my AVR has 6 inputs, so what not use them occasionally. The limitations of the xbox360 don't prevent people from using it with Media Centre.

I don't know the visitor rate just now, but I would guess it to be lower during the holidays, so maybe don't read too much into it.
I am another one who only uses the system for live and recorded TV. The only other oddly formatted files I come across are when something goes wrong and I have to grab an episode from the interweb, which is rare nowadays.

Yeah I only play stuff I record
and mp3's no downloaded crap as I can't stand it quality drives me nuts
All I want is the npvr interface and it to be able to play what npvr records
oh and play it well
