OK. My EPG updates. I go through the list of pending recordings and cancel the ones I don't want for the next few days. The next day when the EPG updates, those recordings that I cancelled are right back on the list to be recorded. This is very annoying! How do I keep a recording cancelled for the date/time I cancelled it? Yeah maybe I want to record it at a later date, but when I cancel something set to record at a certain date/time, I expect it to stay cancelled instead of uncancelled.

Another thing. It seems like I never have CONFLICTS. I remember with GBPVR if you cancelled a recording and there was a conflict, the conflicting recording would go to the pending list. But the weird thing in NPVR is that recordings for me never conflict when I know there should be some conflicts.

There is no conflict handling built in in npvr at the time, Sub says it will be added later.

the same applies to your first problem. there's no mechanism yet to cancel a single instance of a recurring recording, and have it stay canceled through an EPG update. it's actually part of Conflict Management in a way, since without being able to cancel a recording you can't resolve conflicts either.

I once considered putting a list of missing features and known bugs in the tech support sticky, so that people would know what's not supposed to work yet. However I decided that would also be a list of things for people to pester sub about, and he doesn't need that.

I decided to search on this topic and agree with BTJustice about cancelled recordings (from recurring) re-appearing right after an EPG update. I really dislike it too and observe the same thing about never seeing conflicts with NPVR. I guess based on follow-up responses, one work around (though I don't completely like) is to scheduled updates less "frequently", so that when I cancel a show (picked up during an EPG), I don't end up updating until after that cancelled show has passed. So perhaps a week between EPG.? I sometimes need to cancel a recurring show, for which I've already recorded or seen.

The possible problem with seeing about doing EPG update less frequently, might be that I might miss updates of some dynamic program changes perhaps. Oh well.

I think Sub has fixed it for the next release.
