Clutching at straws with your tuning problem.

It might not help but try unzipping the attached tuning file into the ...\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-T folder then try another full scan on the same tuner you used for those previous logs.

@R1Dave:
If you have problems with decoders, try SAF6, it is primary developed for NPVR.
Send me PM if you are interested in unlocking SAF.

Thanks, i'll give that a go. Interestingly, i've found an older copy of npvr.db3 from before Christmas. I've updated the EPG and it looks like the other channels are working again. So at least i have a relatively stable point to return to (phew).

I will have a play with the new file later. It is clearly a problem with the tuning. What is interesting is that when i did the original full scan back at the beginning of December, it all worked fine. Now it doesn't.

It's good that i have my channels back but i need to get to the bottom of it otherwise i will never be able to add channels...

It's possible it won't help but worth a try.

All I've done is remove the entry for 482000 which broadcasts using DVB-T2 in your area. My thinking was that was the second in the list - the first MUX tuning worked but the second onwards didn't (until the last). I was just wondering if the DVB-T2 threw the drivers off but it doesn't explain why 530000 worked.

well that didn't work but it did get me thinking. So I created 6 versions of Ridge Hill, one for each frequency and tuned one by one. this got me 91 channels. Oddly though, some channels are still not working, specifcally itv2, itv2+1 and channel 5. there could be others, i didn't try them all. they are not all on the same frequency.

logs and tuner files attached.

Are you using DVBfix? I gave up on XP because one of my tuners just tuned to the first mux in the list then found no more channels. I had to remove the "Fix" so I could scan for channels then add the fix for normal use.

You seem to have a lot of plugins installed but it may help faultfinding if you disable all but the basic ones as they do add a lot of data to the logs. If you are only recording SD you can disable all decoders except MPEG1 Audio and MPEG2 Video.

Yes i am using DVBfix but may not have been when i did the original tune (that worked) so that could well be the problem. Without DVBFix, i can only use one tuner.

One question though - how do you remove it?

All I did was copy the dvbfix batch file into Windows\System & run it from there, once I am finished scanning I then run the batch file from the directory that I unzipped the fix into & away it goes again..... simple really Wink
