Hi,

I have a dish with 3 LNB's and a diseqc switch. When scanning for channels in NPVR, I can usually only get channels from 19.2E. Unfortunately I don't know exactly how the dish and switch are set up, as this is at my office and they were installed many years ago on an inaccessible rooftop.

If I connect the dish up to a sky box, it immediately finds all the usual UK channels from 28.2E. If I then attach the cable back to the PC and scan 28.2E (using the single LNB setting), NPVR finds all the UK channels, and I can watch any of them. However, as soon as I tune into one of the channels on 19.2E I lose the ability to tune the 28.2E channels. I can only get this back by connecting the dish back up to the sky box again, and then to the PC.

It seems that the sky box is sending a signal which is operating the switch. Does anyone know, if/how I can get NPVR to do the same?

I'm using a hauppauge Nova S, Win 7 32, and the latest version of NPVR.

I've tried running the 28.2E scan using the 22khz switch settings, both using satellites A and B, and I've tried selecting 28.2E in each of the four slots with diseqc selected. I have not adjusted the LOF settings, as I can't seem to find any information on these that I can understand.

Any suggestions on how to get things working would be much appreciated.

AFAIK a Sky box knows nothing about diseqc at all. (I know nothing about it either, but am trying). The lof setting are just for where the Local Oscillator Frequency changes for hi or lo band (I think).

p.s. From Wikipedia "As a result, the vast majority of European satellite receivers support DiSEqC 1.0 or higher, with the exception of all set top boxes manufactured under the Sky Digibox name." (Hmmm, unless diseqc can hear and recognise a Sky box and decide to choose a particular input when it does ??)

I will watch this thread with interest to try to learn.

Yes, I read this too - it's confusing, however I also read that:
'"A Sky Box does NOT support Diseqc. But it will ALWAYS get the Diseqc A satellite." (http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=908362)
So presumably the Sky box is setting the switch to diseqc A.

Then when I use NPVR to make a tuning request for something on 19.2E, even without any diseqc settings being in use, this is changing the switch position. I just need to work out how to make it switch back.

Hopefully there's an expert around who can suggest something?

Right, I've got hold of an MVision S4 satellite receiver, and this is finding 28.2E channels on diseqc A, and 19.2E channels on diseqc B, with LNB type set to universal, so as I understand it the default LOF settings should be fine, but I still can't get NPVR to switch to diseqc A.

Can anyone confirm that they are successfully using diseqc with a Hauppauge Nova-S plus?
