Hi, I know these are controlled via registry keys but can you set these to different values before you install to change the install path and data directory?

Many Thanks

Yes they can, if you'r familiar with Regedit.exe.

Potentially you could stop the service, all instances of nextpvr and ntray and un-register the npvr directshow filters...
Code:
regsvr32 /u NPVRCCDump.ax
regsvr32 /u NPVRPESCollector.ax
regsvr32 /u NPVRTSMon.ax
regsvr32 /u NPVRWriter.ax
regsvr32 /u NPVRTSReader.ax
regsvr32 /u NPVRMP3Reader.ax

You could then drag'n'drop your existing install folders to where you want them to be then change the registry settings to reflect the new paths. Then you'd have to re-register the filters using RegisterFilters.bat in the NPVR program folder and restart the recording service and ntray. In theory you'd have a working system in new folders.

DISCLAIMER: Never tried it...it 'might' work...your decision...I take no responsibility. Big Grin

Cheers,
Brian

Using "Regedit" navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR

DataDirectory and Install Directory are listed

Edit the one you want to change and double check what you have written

Move the directory to the new location

NextPVR will now use the new location as will any reinstall

If you want to do it on a clean machine before you install here is a .reg file sample

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NPVR]
"InstallDirectory"="location of programs"
"DataDirectory"="locations of settings"

note that the first key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432node\NPVR in 64 bit.

Don't edit the registry if you don't know what you are doing
