I use mc2xml for guide data. I used NPVR without issues for several months until suddenly I missed some recordings and several of my channels were showing "no data" in the guide. I went into the channel setup and it turns out that some of the channels were showing no "mapping" to guide channels. I then went in the "Details" of each channel and mapped them to the correct guide channels. All was fine again for several weeks but now they have become "unmapped" again??

I'm not aware of any other reports of this, but if you find a this happening, zip and attach your xmltv file and npvr.db3, and I'll check the mappings in the database and the xmltv file for possible causes.

Note that the channel Details show a "blank" mapping. I have attached the files. Thanks.

Starting at channel 64 all your links seem messed up. Even though you are using ATSC, maybe the cable lineup you had them mapped to changed? I remember some of those stations from when I lived in Falls Church back in the 70's

I am using the "OTA Terrestrial" source for MCE data via mc2xml so the lineup shouldn't be changing.

I don't know how sub chooses the match though these values might not be a problem, but something has changed at the source. For their channel 64 (your 321) the XMLTV ID file has

Code:

        <display-name>64 WVIRDT3</display-name>
        <display-name>64</display-name>
        <display-name>WVIRDT3</display-name>
        <display-name>WVIRDT3 (WVIR-DT3)</display-name>
        <display-name>CW Affiliate</display-name>

and NextPVR has

Code:
<mapping_id>I64.183434060.microsoft.com</mapping_id>
  <mapping_name>64 WHUTDT</mapping_name>

They show your channel at item 65 now,

Code:

        <display-name>65 WHUTDT</display-name>
        <display-name>65</display-name>
        <display-name>WHUTDT</display-name>
        <display-name>WHUTDT (WHUT-DT)</display-name>
        <display-name>PBS Affiliate</display-name>

As Martin pointed out above, you're supplying nextpvr an xmltv file that no longer has the channel ids it did when you mapped the channels. For example, you originally mapped the NBC-1 channel to 'I77.28458625.microsoft.com', but your xmltv fils no longer contains data for a channel with that id. It does however have this data on I78.28458625.microsoft.com. These IDs aren't supposed to change in xmltv files though, and it's the key the application has to use to find the data.

It definitely appears to be something going on with the source of your EPG data, and not a nextpvr problem.

If the problem persists and you dont find any way around it, I can try to add some special case logic to make it cope with these changing ids, assuming that big number in the ID doesnt change?

I will remap them and hope that Microsoft stops messing with the IDs. Thanks.

I found a mc2xml file that someone sent me with my local channels and it had this info

<programme start="20120130210000 -0500" stop="20120130220000 -0500" channel="I3.28458620.microsoft.com">

For that same channel I have it just as
in my XMLTV files so you might be on to something remove the "channel" part of the mc2xml files
