I had this working until my pc crashed a couple weeks ago, now the shows don't get renamed and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Attached are my logs and my bat files, I'm not really sure what I'm doing when it comes to bat files so it's possible I messed up adding it to the comskip postprocessing bat.

You have a typo in PostPtocessing.bat, you are missing the ) after x86.

"C:\Program Files (x86\NPVR\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --rename

Also I saw an error in the imageGrab logs, you might not have the latest version.

That did the trick, Thank. I like having my files named to something that makes sense so I know if I missed a recording, I often wait for a season to be over before I watch.

Here's a question for North American imageGrabLite users: I found a mismatch with Castle tonight, because on thetvdb the episode was marked as a second part of a two-parter named "Linchpin (2)" with last weeks named Pandora (1)" Our EPG date will have this called simply "Linchpin" and "Pandora" I don't have the original air date because it was marked first run, so I wondering if the following logic will work for you

If imageGrabLite is searching for a first run recording for a show, and there is a subtitle but the subtitle doesn't match, when thetvdb indicates a new episode for that show is on that week (Sunday-Saturday), would it be okay to use the tvdb season episode anyway?

OK, I've read that 4 times now, and I still don't follow. The EPG does not indicate that it is a two-parter, but thetvdb does, by virtue of the number in parenthesis, right? Does thetvdb give them both the same episode number?

No, they do have separate episode numbers but I can't directly match on subtitle because of the (#) and I can't match on original_air_date because there isn't one for first run shows.

OK, I think I get it. You can't match on name or original air date. So what do you propose?

What I am proposing, if you record a show marked first run, and there is no other match, to match when there is a scheduled show for that week, I would match S#E# from thetvdb. As an example if you have NCIS:LA set for recording tonight, the subtitle you have won't match what thetvdb has "Blye, K. (1)" so imageGrabLite will not rename the files. The proposed change is, ok this is a first run so match the first show that is marked as airing between the 19th and 25th on thetvdb

This logic may fail for daily shows, especially soaps, day tv and late night.

I think this is where you wanted my comments. I'm okay with this - for my needs, I'd rather have S#E# with the wrong subtitle than no rename at all. Or are you proposing renaming with the S#E# with no subtitle? I'm okay with this, too.

For me, I'd likely prefer any sort of renaming that you can manage, you do, with error conditions noted. "House.S8E12.notitlematch.ts" or "House.nonumber.Chase.ts" that would readily show me what I needed to find manually would work great for me, but I recognize that this might not be so good for people who use NPVR for playback and would possibly lose sight of the file in the database.

I agree that renaming is better than no rename, and odds are that the method you propose will yield an acceptable number of accurate hits. You won't know until you try. I think we have to be prepared to accept a certain percentage of "mis-scrapes".
