Upgraded to NextPVR and now having problems with MVP configuration

Here's some additional info... I can play the file back fine on my main machine that did the recording. Here are my settings from my config.xml file:

Do I need to set the transcode to true? (I haven't edited much on a config.xml file before and am not sure what happens if I mess up a setting which makes me a little nervous to just try it and see what happens.)

So then I tried to play back a recording and I got no video and stuttering audio. My recording was made with a QAM tuner on a HD station. It is a 4GB+ file that has a .ts ending. It's 1280X720 with a bitrate of 24000+kbps. Does any of that help me try and figure out why I can't get the file to playback?

The MVP is an old device, and only capable of playing standard definition video. Its only really well suited to old-school analog recording.

That said, if you set <TranscodeTsForMVP> to true, and have a fast server, then you might get lucky, but will have to watch every recording from beginning, with no ability to skip around in the file.

Ok, so I did the transcode to True and it is playing back fine. Here's my other problem (as I try to eke out a little more time with my MediaMVP)... I can't get it to access network shares that are accessible from NextPVR. So for example, I have my music directory stored my server it a shared folder. The computer NPVR is installed on can see the directory and access the files and so can NPVR. But if I try to access the folder through the MVP it says it's unaccessible. I remember when I initially set up GBPVR with the MVP I had to give some service permission so that it could access the appropriate folder. I'm guessing something similar is happening here, but don't know what service I need to work with. Any ideas?

I had the same problem & was pointed in the direction of Martins ShareHelper utility to get everything working

I'll try to remember about ShareHelper if I get into trouble. I remembered what I'd done with GBPVR and applied it to the "NPVR Recording Service." So if anyone else is reading this later here's what I did.

(In Windows 7) I opened Control Panel, System and Security, Administrative Tools, Services. I scrolled down to the "NPVR Recording Service" and right-clicked on Properties. Under the Log On tab I seleceted the button that says "This account" and filled in my username and password (same for my Windows 7 machine and the share folder on my Windows Home Server). I stopped and restarted the service and then rebooted my MediaMVP. After that I was good to go. I can now stream .ts files from NextPVR and playback any video file stored on my network share. Happy days again.
