I'm seeing two new problems with the MediaMVP which are new since upgrading to 1.4.7 for 1.3.11.
  1. Black screen after hitting stop during live TV
  2. Commercial skip timing badly inaccurate
If I am watching live TV and hit stop to get back to the Guide, I just get a black screen. The only thing I can do is hit the power button on the remote. Anything else just leaves the black screen.

Also, only since the upgrade, I am finding commercial skipping is way off. I record to MPEG2 and am using the ATI mux. I'm using the dongle.bin that is bundled with GBPVR. This is on XP. Anyone else?

Reproduce this and post the logs and I'll take alook.

I cant think of anything that would have changed with this in the new release. (In my experience comskip was always very bad on the MVP)

Hi Sub,

exactly the same problem overhere after upgrading to 1.4.7 on an XP Prof machine. After watching Live TV over the MediaMVP the screen returns black when stopping Live TV and the only option is to power OFF/ON the MVP to return to the main menu.

Logs attached from a blanco log boot up and capturing the logs into zip archive after shutting down PVRX2, SlimGBPVR & GBPVR Recording services.

Hopefully you make something out of this to give us some good advise (as usual) Smile

PS: I'm not running Netframe v3.5 SP1 as this seems to disable remote desktop on my XP machine so I just have the Netframe 2 and updates but I suppose that's not the problem as everything was working fine with v 1.3.11

@bavan your logs show a missing heartbeat (8) after returning from TV live and I know the MVP will abort in this condition. You might want to try the mvpmc dongle too see if it fixes this problem.

It was always slightly inaccurate for me before, but now it's out by a country mile.

Anyway, will zip my logs for the black screen problem and come back to you...

Thanks Smile

Martin,
thanks for the advice. I know you have developed a substitute for the Hauppauge dongle, being MVPMC, but compared to GBPVR v 1.3.11 something must have changed in the new release 1.4.7 so I believe it's in everyones interrest for SUB to find out what is the root cause for this cardiac arrest of the MediaMVP.

Thanks anyway for bringing up the suggestion. Will try later MVPMC, if the wife allows me, as I have reverted back to GBPVR v1.3.11

Can you bump this in a few days? I'm not going to get a chance to look at this the next couple of days - a bit busy with my day job at the moment.

Bump--I'm also experiencing the black screen (dead MVP) after stopping Live TV. Mine was a fresh install with 1.4.7.
