by the way, in case it isn't clear, MC2XML can also pull down Schedules Direct data. So it's just as easy to violate the SD terms of service and use the data with unapproved programs (non-free programs) as it is to violate the MS terms of service and use their data with unapproved programs (anything but WMC).

I believe you as I haven't seen/read the MS terms of service but the SD terms of service are clearly spelled out on their website. I still don't understand that if mc2xml is a clear violation of the terms of service (only purpose is to use the MCE data in a different program) and the author actually might be making some money from it why MS hasn't prevented the program from being able to get at this data? I am not a person who likes to take part in "illegal" activities but this makes me think MS doesn't see it as a problem.

I wasn't trying to be preachy or accuse anyone of doing anything illegal, immoral or fattening. I was simply saying $2 is a very small price to buy for guaranteed, high quality EPG data, especially with the totally integrated support in NextPVR. If the risk of losing any EPG data is worth it, is a personal decision.

Aside from the ethics debate, is everyone else out of epg data using mc2xml? April 30 was my last day. Is there any more information on whether this is permanent or not?

I'm not out of data. I have listings through 8:00 pm on May 13th. (Eleven days)

Although, if I were going to switch to SchedulesDirect and I have over 230 channels, is there a way I can do it without changing each channel individually?

(Note to self: I also have to find the directions for getting it to save the info as XML so I can run XmltvExtras from the TV Listings plugin.)

I believe mc2xml will also grab your guide from Schedules Direct and create an XML out of it. I'll be doing that in the near future too. I need an xml for the same reason.

I just tried to manually update the epg through settings resulting again in no listings. I wonder what's gone wrong on my end? In the past it has almost always been either MS on the server side, or I needed a new version of mc2xml. I just tried the latest downloaded version with the same result.
