Has anyone attempted/considered/thought about making a mobile specific version of NEWA? I would like to use my iPhone to perform simple operations with NEWA, but the current web pages are too difficult to use effectively on the small screen. I saw there are some frameworks which make writing mobile web sites simple. This is one framework that works with iOS, Android, RIM, webOS, and more: http://www.iui-js.org/. I also wasn't sure if a framework like this or others would work properly with the current NEWA web server.

After some experimentation, I was able to get this framework working with the NEWA web server. Are there any guidelines on how other people should add functionality to NEWA while still keeping within the same architecture pattern?

I put together a proof-of-concept web app using iUI framework. It allows you to see the recordings and their associated details. This covers the major uses that I need for a mobile client. Maybe someone with more experience will have the opportunity to enhance this proof-of-concept. Enjoy.

Hi,

I used the code attached above and added some of the basic functions I needed to control NextPVR from my iPod/iPhone. Maybe it is useful for somebody else as well. Attached are screenshots and the code.

Best Regards,

This is looking really good.....I brought it up on my iTouch (gen 1 Sad )

Some considerations for you.....
I notice the record options are different from what is in NEWA so I assume someone re-wrote the record interface for mobile? Specifically I can't set a recording for any day at any time.
For the All Recordings I think it should align to how NPVR implements that view.....you see a program...then clicking on the program you see a list of recordings for that program. Right now I have about 90 recordings to watch and the list is just to unorganized to find what I am looking for.

Hi, Yes currently not all options are covered like in NEWA... only the basic ones. It is work in progress, so it can be extended. Just wanted to find out if it would be useful to anybody else.

Yes! I like it, on iPhone4. I wish there was a new log in screen, and agree that seeing the list of shows first would be better.

Thanks for your work!

I'm enjoying the TV Guide feature. I don't think the "Recurring" items need to be shown in the "All Recordings" list since it is already available in the "Scheduled Recordings" list. Thanks for improving this beyond my initial concept.
