Season (daily, etc) manual recordings are not recording

This long-standing problem was unexpectedly fixed when my corrupted config.xml was recreated in response to a different problem (a failure to launch NPVR). The cause of the corruption is unknown but it seems to be incremental. Is there any automated way I find out what is corrupting this file?

Not that I know of.

I'm not seeing other reports of it happening though, so I'm guessing it's something environmental.

My problems gone too after I have created a new batch of recurring recordings.

I don't know why the previous few batches of manual recurring recordings failed to update new entries into the pending list.
But i'm glad it is working fine now.

I have just had a similar problem with a recurring recording (only one in list). It stopped recording - future episodes were clearly in the Guide but were not being added to Pending list, even after re-starts. [Also, although set to save last 5 recordings, none were left in the Available list, though one file was left in the folder.]

After adding a second item to the list (for the same programme), now both entries are adding to the Pending list. Something may be resetting.
