Hi, this thread seems to have died, but I'm having the exact same problem. I've followed all the settings and tried kicking off streaming on the server itself as suggested, but no joy.

I see the command to start VLC in the log file, and the command is correct, but watching Task Manager I don't think VLC is actually being started because I never see it in the process list until I start it up to play the stream (which of course fails).

What would keep VLC from starting? BTW I'm running Win 7 SP1 64-bit.

Thanks!

I'm using the exact settings that you put in your screen grabs earlier in this thread.

What is the file extension on the file you are trying to stream?

I'm trying to stream a live TV show from the NEWA guide, but it also fails with recordings. I'm using an HDHR Prime and an OTA ATSC tuner, so for both the extension is .TS.

With a recording, I've tried both the Play and the Stream buttons, but neither works. Here's a snippet from my web.log showing where it thinks it's starting VLC to do the streaming. The path to VLC is correct. This was for a show I picked from the Guide to watch live, and it did record the show but couldn't stream it:

FWIW, IIRC I never could get the new one to stream. The old VLC showed promise.

I just tried kicking off the VLC stream from a command line, using the arguments from the log file above, and it starts up and runs perfectly. Running VLC 2.0.3.

Any ideas why the web page won't start it up properly?
