NPVR setup - PVR150 with SVideo input

I feel like I'm missing something really simple here.... I've setup NPVR and installed the WinTV softpvr components (Analog tuner is showing up in Devices) so I can use my PVR150 with an SVideo input from my Sky TV STB. But I can't get anything to show up on screen. How do I tell NPVR to use the S-Video input for this tuner??

did you setup your channels (at least one) in Settings->Devices->Device Setup? That's where you specify the input NPVR will use to access the channel.

did you specify valid MPEG audio and video decoders on Settings->Decoders?

if yes to both, try watching live tv then post logs.

I'm not sure how to set the channel up. Any advice? Can anyone tell me what the SKY TV (New Zealand) channel broadcast number is? I have a feeling I need to use this.

You need to go into Settings->Devices, then double click your device. You've then got two options for setting up your channels. You can either:

1) (preferred) hit 'Import', set the Input Source to 'Svideo', and select an xmltv file that has your NZ tv listings, then hit OK to automatically create all your channels.
2) or manually hit add, enter a channel number and name, like '14' 'MTV', and set the Input Source to 'SVideo' and hit OK to create the channel, then repeat for evey other channel?

Ideally you need an IR Blaster too, so that NextPVR can tell your Sky set top box to change channels.

if you want to use S-Video, you set it in the Input Source drop-down (it may list more than one... try both; you can even try Composite - there have been cases reported where the inputs weren't labeled right by their card's driver). For testing you can just setup one channel, no channel changer, and it will just show whatever you tune your Sky box to.

Once you know your input is working, you can configure your channel changer (ir blaster) command and setup all your channels.

actually I type pretty fast, and don't need to look at the keys, but I also spend too much time pondering my words, editing, re-typing, checking references, etc. With 70,540 posts and counting, sub just pounds it out and gets it done.

I'm still getting nothing. My new system has Win7 64 bit and 8GB of RAM and I read online that the PVR150 will only run on 64bit with less than 4GB - so I tried taking a stick out but still no dice.

It's not an NPVR issue actually as I can't get anything in the Hauppauge WinTV application either.

Any other suggestions??

Whilst logged in go to private messages & Edit signature is on the left hand side about half way down
